Scrap Over Time¶

What it shows¶

Shows the trend of scrap reasons over time for the selected machine and window, so you can see when scrap spikes occur.

Data and refresh¶

Data source: Reports API (time series).
Time range: Respects the selected time period (plotted across the window).
Machine filter: Respects the selected machine(s).
Widget locks: You can lock this widget to its own machine and/or time range (Machine lock / Time lock) so it ignores the dashboard filters. See Custom Dashboard.

Configuration¶

Open the slider menu, then select Configure. Apply with Confirm or discard with Close.

Setting	Choices and default	Effect
Series selection	Top N (default), Manual Selection	Automatically chooses the leading groups or lets you select machine/reason pairs.
Chart Type	Line Chart (default), Bar Chart	Shows scrap trends as lines or bars.
Time Bucket	5m, 15m, 1h (default), 1d, 1w, 1mo	Groups the selected period into 5-minute, 15-minute, hourly, daily, weekly or monthly intervals.
Breakdown	Reason Text (default), Station, Track	Available in Top N mode; selects how scrap is grouped.
Show Top N	1-20, default 5	Available in Top N mode; limits the displayed groups.
Split by machine	Off by default	Available in Top N mode with multiple machines and Reason Text breakdown. Station/Track breakdown disables it.
Show Legend	On by default	Identifies the series.
Show Totals	On by default	Shows scrap totals below the chart.

Scroll within the dialog to reach Show Legend and Show Totals:

In Manual Selection, choose a machine when several are selected, choose its Reason, then select Add. Repeat for the required pairs. The list shows the reason and machine; Remove removes that pair. A reason already added for that machine cannot be added twice. Confirm requires at least one series. A saved series for a machine outside the current machine selection is marked as inactive.

Available reasons come from Scrap Causes. Machine/time locks are in the widget menu.

How to read it¶

Each series is a scrap reason plotted over time. Peaks reveal when specific reasons spiked.

Interactions¶

Widget filter (top-right icon) — open the widget's own settings to change its display.

Troubleshooting¶

Widget shows no data -> No events in the selected machine/period, or a filter is too narrow -> Widen the time range or change the machine, then refresh once -> If a machine that normally reports data stays empty, use Troubleshooting > Connectivity.
